Traceability Solutions
When constructing a traceability solution, it is essential that
the correct mix of hardware and software be impartially and objectively chosen for each unique situation. Typically, a single off-the-shelf or
“plug-and-play” solution will not fulfill
a customer’s needs. Bax Tek Solutions’
Traceability Solution Package, including design, integration of
software, barcode or RFID terminals and printers, enables food
producers, processors and retailers to make traceability compliance a profit center, not a cost center.

Security Technology
Vigilos Inc. has released version 5. 2 of its BrightSite® technology, which addresses issues that range from connecting a
food processing company’s production activities to its existing
security technologies, allowing them to make improvements in
labor optimization, manufacturing, employee welfare, premises
security and safety, to securing multiple facilities.

Ultrasonic Coating
Sono-Tek Corporation has announced the development and
sale of new industrial ultrasonic coating systems for depanning
and other baked goods manufacturing applications. Based on
high-frequency sound waves, the
patented nozzle systems create
atomized spray patterns capable
of unlimited widths and median
drop sizes as low as 18 microns
(based on atomizing water), with
many advantages over traditional spraying systems. One advantage is transfer efficiency.
There is less bounce-back of liquid from the target, combined
with a controllable, uniform
coating application of nanometer to micron thickness layers. Other advantages include tight
drop distribution, which enhances coating uniformity, and minimal maintenance requirements, which offers significant economic value to the baked goods industry.

Efficient Belt Clamping
Flexco has introduced the SmartClamp™ system for safe, efficient belt clamping in parts and package handling or other
light-duty applications. It is designed to decrease downtime by
significantly increasing the ease and speed of installation of
Clipper® and Alligator® mechanical belt fasteners. With its
wedge-grip design, the clamp quickly and safely permits pulling
of belts with up to 2,000 lb (900 kg) of load. Each individual
clamp is rated to a 1,000-lb (450-kg) load.
