Dehumidification Systems
Kathabar Dehumidification Systems, Inc. has released liquid and dry des-
iccant dehumidifiers that deliver precise and reliable, energy-efficient temper-
ature and humidity control to a wide range of industrial, commercial, and
institutional
applications
regardless of
air inlet
conditions.
The dehu-
midifiers
also provide
critical bacte-
rial control; captur-
ing most airborne bacteria,
viruses and mold. All equipment is
made of fiber-reinforced plastic (FRP) with indus-
trial-grade construction for less maintenance and long equip-
ment life. The liquid desiccant systems, most efficient when cool or cold dry
air is desired, can handle airflows from 750 to 84,000 CFM.

Traceability Software
CDC Software Corporation has announced the availability of Trace Express Viewer, a solution for its Ross ERP Lot Trace application that enables
easier use, faster access and immediate forward and backward trace functionality to identify suspect materials and assist in the disposition of finished
goods in the event of a product recall—key functionalities for product safety
and compliance. The solution helps manufacturers ensure the safety of their
products and secure the trust of their customers while facilitating compliance with industry standards and government regulations. With this solution, food processors and life sciences and chemicals enterprises can
quickly obtain a graphical representation of the Lot Trace that instantly enables the user to trace forward and backward to determine the disposition
and related properties of any ingredient, intermediate or finished product at
any point throughout the materials receiving, manufacturing, inventory,
sales and delivery processes.

Hygienic Freezer
Linde North America, part of The Linde
Group, now offers the CRYOWAVE™ hygienic
tunnel freezer. The freezer is especially useful for
processors of individually quick frozen (IQF)
items such as pizza toppings, diced or sliced
meats, pastas or vegetables. The freezer uses a
proprietary, agitating wave action that gently
tumbles layered products to lock in moisture and
maximize yield. The dual-function freezer’s
patented, controllable vibrating system delivers
the highest attainable amount of IQF product.
The vibration can be turned off when processors
want to freeze flat, trayed or formed products.

Early Leak Detection
Baumer has introduced the FODK 23 Optical
Sensor for Leak Monitoring. The evaluation elec-
tronics for this sensor are housed in a chemically
resistant, IP67-rated sheath made of Teflon perflu-oroalkoxy (PFA), which allows the device to withstand exposure to a range of non-conductive
liquids including acids, alkalis, milk and mineral
oil. Typically, 1 mL of leaked liquid will make the
sensor react. The sensor is screwed or glued onto a
dry floor or base panel in the area where leakage
might occur. The sensor’s PVC or PFA installation
clip allows the device to be snapped into place
and removed quickly without tools. Safe for use
with hazardous materials, this sensor can be used
in applications such as food and beverage processing, laboratory automation, packaging and water
treatment.
