SERVSAFE® Training and Certification
Food safety training and certification is designed for all individuals who need food safety training, certification and/or recertification for supervising a foodservice operation. This typically
includes managers, supervisors, dieticians, chefs, cooks, food handlers, and trainers.
This session will focus on the causes of foodborne illnesses and how to minimize their risk, the
principles of food safety, how to establish systems for safe receiving, storing, preparing, cooking,
holding, serving, cooling, and reheating, and how to build cleaning, sanitizing and pest-control
systems. This session will provide the knowledge necessary to serve safe food with confidence,
minimize or eliminate food contaminants, reduce exposure to legal liability, meet local state
regulatory requirements, improve inspection scores, and proactively address food safety.
This course qualifies for a total of 12 hours of continuing education credit and
includes the ServSafe Certification Exam and Certificate.
Attendees are required to attend the entire 12 hours of education. A minimum
of 25 people are required in order to hold the training, with a maximum number
of 40 people allowed, first-come, first-served.

This course will be presented by Peter Good, a nationally recognized
ServSafe trainer with more than 20 years experience in training trainers
for companies such as McDonald’s, Brinker International, Whataburger
and Chick-fil-A, Inc. He is formerly Director of Education for the Illinois
Restaurant Association and has conducted dozens of “train-the-trainer”
workshops for the National Restaurant Association.
