ecent market research conducted by the Food Safety
Summit, across all food industry segments and related
areas, identified content, networking and interactive
communications as the key issues that are important
to attendees. Content that provides solutions, networking that
allows attendees to renew existing acquaintances and establish
new lines of communication in a supportive environment along
with interaction between presenters and attendees.
The 2018 Food Safety Summit, celebrating its 20th anniversary,
was designed to meet these identified needs and expectations.
The Summit’s content offers certification courses, workshops and
educational sessions designed to “Provide Solutions for Today and
Planning for Tomorrow”.
A new element designed to enhance networking opportunities
and set the stage for an interactive community is the introduction
of the Community Cafes on Wednesday and Thursday on the
exhibit hall floor. The Community Cafes are networking areas
on the show floor where like-minded professionals from specific
food industry sectors represented in the supply chain, can gather
and continue the conversations begun in our education sessions
and carried through the duration of the Summit. The Cafes
are designed around the four segments of the Food Supply
Chain: Manufacturing/Processing/Supplier; Retail/Foodservice;
Distribution; and Regulatory. Each segment will have subject
matter experts from the Summit speaker faculty available at
advertised times in each of the areas to facilitate discussions
and answer questions. The Cafes are sponsored by Kestrel
Management, GoJo Industries, Grainger and CERTUS/Solus.
Additionally, the presentations throughout the Summit will
encourage attendee participation in not only the Q&A sessions
but helping to identify specific issues of interest that the attendees
would like the presenters to address.
